Why This Mosque Must Be Built

Reason 01

Insufficient Mosque Capacity

Hundreds of students are forced to pray in their classrooms because the current school mosque can no longer accommodate the full congregation.

The current school mosque is no longer able to adequately accommodate the growing number of students, which now exceeds several hundred. Consequently, a significant number of students are required to perform their daily prayers in their classrooms as a temporary arrangement, particularly female students in the Tahfizh Primary School and Tahfizh Junior Secondary School programmes.

This situation highlights the urgent need for a larger and more suitable prayer facility that can comfortably accommodate all students and provide an environment conducive to worship, religious learning, and character development.

Reason 02

Supporting Tahfizh & Muraja'ah

The new mosque will provide a proper venue for female students' Qur'an memorisation (Tahfizh) and revision (Muraja'ah) sessions starting at 6:30 a.m.

The new mosque will provide an appropriate venue for Tahfizh (Qur'an memorisation) and Muraja'ah (revision of memorisation) sessions conducted by female students from 6:30 a.m. onwards. The existing mosque is no longer sufficient to accommodate all students participating in these activities, particularly following the establishment of Salman Tahfizh Junior Secondary School, which has significantly increased student enrolment.

Reason 03

Community Qur'an Education

The mosque will serve as a Qur'an learning centre for children from surrounding neighbourhoods during afternoon and evening hours.

The new mosque will also serve as a centre for Qur'an education during the afternoon and evening hours for children residing in the surrounding neighbourhoods. This facility will support the growing demand for Islamic learning among children from several local community areas.

Reason 04

Religious Training Programmes

Practical training in ablution, prayer, and funeral rites โ€” as well as regular Islamic study sessions for over 100 foundation staff โ€” require a larger, segregated space.

Various educational and religious programmes conducted by the Foundation require separate facilities for male and female participants. These include practical training in the correct performance of ablution (wudhu), the Prophetic method of prayer (Salah), and the Islamic procedures for caring for the deceased โ€” washing, shrouding, and funeral prayers.

Regular Islamic study sessions attended by Foundation management, staff, teachers, and employees also require separate arrangements for male and female participants. With personnel exceeding one hundred individuals across Kindergarten, Primary School, Tahfizh Junior Secondary School, and Tahfizh Senior Secondary School, the existing mosque is unable to accommodate all participants adequately.

During Ramadan, community iftar gatherings and Taraweeh prayers regularly exceed the capacity of the current mosque, making it difficult to accommodate worshippers comfortably while maintaining appropriate arrangements for male and female congregants.

Reason 05

Salman Arabic Language Institute

The foundation plans to launch an Arabic Language Institute offering afternoon and evening classes. The mosque will anchor this educational hub.

In the near future, God willing, the Foundation plans to establish the Salman Arabic Language Institute, offering afternoon and evening classes from Asr until Isha. These programmes will be open to learners of all levels, including teenagers and adults, both male and female.

The new mosque will play a vital role in supporting these educational activities by providing a suitable place of worship for students attending classes, enabling them to perform the Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers conveniently within the educational environment.
